Michigan Street Beach Access, Navarre Beach Fishing

6.1· Beach · Navarre, FL

The Michigan Street Beach Access is a Santa Rosa County parking area and dune walkover (numbered 37C) on Gulf Boulevard toward the west end of Navarre Beach, a couple of miles west of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier. The county lists the walkover as handicap accessible, and it lands on a broad beach well away from the lifeguard stations clustered near the pier. Surf anglers come for pompano and Gulf whiting in spring and fall, with redfish along the beach in autumn and Spanish mackerel, ladyfish and bluefish in the warm months. Tides are small, mostly one high and one low a day. County code lets the county bar hook fishing inside signed public bathing areas from March through October. No restrooms are listed, and pets, glass and fires are not allowed on the beach. Watch the flags for rip currents.
