Navarre Beach Marine Park (Sound Side) Fishing

6.5· Beach · Navarre, FL

Navarre Beach Marine Park is Santa Rosa County's 109-acre park on Santa Rosa Island, and its sound-side shore on Santa Rosa Sound is a calm, easy place to wade or cast for inshore fish. Redfish, speckled trout and flounder are the main targets over the grass beds and sandy edges, with sheepshead and black drum in cooler months and Spanish mackerel and ladyfish in summer. Fish early or late on a moving tide with live shrimp under a popping cork or soft plastics. The sound-side areas have public parking and restrooms, pavilions, ADA boardwalks and an accessible kayak launch. From March through October the county may ban hook fishing inside signed bathing areas, so fish outside them. It is a sheltered shore, but watch for stingrays when wading, boat traffic in the sound and summer lightning.
