Kellogg Bayside Park is a small, quiet Walton County park on the south shore of Choctawhatchee Bay at the north end of Nellie Drive in Santa Rosa Beach, on land given as a wildlife preserve. The county lists fishing, boat and canoe access, parking, picnic tables and drinking water, and the launch suits kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. From the bank or a kayak you can target speckled trout and redfish along the shallow edges, with flounder, black drum and ladyfish through the warm months and croaker and white trout in winter. Fish live shrimp under a popping cork or a soft plastic on a light jig head, early and late. Trailers are not allowed at the launch, and vehicle access to unload a boat has to be arranged with the county. Tides are tiny in the bay; wind matters more. Watch for summer storms building over the water.
