Riverfront Park is Moss Point's flagship park on the Escatawpa River downtown, with a boardwalk reaching out over the water, a veterans memorial and a city boat launch, a short way above where the Escatawpa joins the Pascagoula. The city calls both rivers a draw for anglers, and the lower Escatawpa is brackish: in dry spells speckled trout, redfish, flounder and black drum move up past downtown, while after rain the river runs fresh and catfish, bass and bream take over. Fish live shrimp under a cork along the boardwalk pilings and marsh edges, or cut bait on the bottom for drum and catfish. Wiggles Bait & Bar on the marina sells bait, and Main Street's cafes are a short walk away. The park hosts big festivals, so check the calendar, and watch for boats at the launch and for summer storms.
