Bayfront Park, Daphne Fishing

5.6· Pier· Daphne, AL

Bayfront Park is a Daphne city park on Mobile Bay just north of Village Point, where a small pier gives quiet fishing over shallow, brackish water. The park is being rebuilt: Bayfront Park Drive has been closed to cars and people since October 2025 while a new amphitheater goes up, with reopening expected in spring 2027, and the city's notice, still posted in May 2026, says the pier can be reached on foot only, for a limited time, by the boardwalk from Village Point Park Preserve on Main Street. A grant-funded new pier, far longer than this one, is also planned. Expect speckled trout, croaker, white trout and catfish, with redfish and flounder in fall. Live shrimp under a cork is the standard bait. Check with the city before you go, and leave early if storms build.
