Meaher State Park Fishing

6.8· Pier· Daphne, AL

Fee to fish: Small gate fee to enter the park, which includes the fishing pier; boat launch extra (checked Oct 17, 2026)

Meaher State Park sits on the Mobile Bay Causeway at Spanish Fort, where the Mobile-Tensaw Delta meets the head of the bay, and its 300-foot fishing pier with a 200-foot T reaches out over that mixing water. Pier access is included in the small per-person gate fee, and a boat ramp at the park's east end opens onto the Blakeley River. The water is brackish and changes with rain and river flow, so redfish, speckled trout and flounder share it with largemouth bass and bream. Fish live shrimp on a Carolina rig for reds, bull minnows for flounder, and soft plastics where bait is moving. Alabama State Parks says a freshwater fishing license is required here. Watch for summer storms and for boats near the ramp.
