Mobile Street Beach, Bon Secour Refuge Fishing

6.2· Beach· Baldwin County, AL

Free: Free parking and no refuge entry fee (checked Oct 17, 2026)

Mobile Street Beach is the drive-up Gulf beach access in Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge on the Fort Morgan peninsula: a paved road runs south from Fort Morgan Road to a free public lot near the beach, and a dune walkover leads to the sand. It is the easiest way to surf fish the refuge's undeveloped shoreline, with pompano and Gulf kingfish in the troughs in spring and fall, redfish running the beach in the cooler months, and speckled trout, flounder and Spanish mackerel when the water is clear. Calm mornings on a moving tide are best. There are no restrooms or showers, the refuge is open sunrise to sunset with no fee, dogs are not allowed, and private land is mixed in along the road, so stay on public ground. Watch for rip currents and summer lightning.
