Beach Access 32A, Gulf Islands National Seashore Fishing

6.1· Beach · Escambia County, FL

Free: No entrance fee, unlike a nearby paid beach complex (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Beach Access 32A is a free National Park Service parking lot on Highway 399 in the Santa Rosa Area of Gulf Islands National Seashore, roughly halfway between the end of the Pensacola Beach resort strip and the Opal Beach day-use complex. The Park Service lists fishing among the things to do here, and the undeveloped surf in front of it is a fine place to set spikes for pompano and Gulf whiting in spring and fall. Spanish mackerel, bluefish and ladyfish chase bait along the bar in the warm months, and redfish cruise the beach in autumn. The tide is small, usually one high and one low a day, so light and surf conditions matter more. There are no restrooms, showers or water, and no lifeguards. The park bars loitering in the lot from sunset to 8 a.m., and the Park Service rates this shore high-risk for rip currents.
