Varn Park Fishing

6.6· Beach · Beverly Beach, FL

Varn Park is an eight-acre Flagler County beach park on A1A, a short drive north of Flagler Beach, and the county's own page calls it a popular spot for surf fishing. The barrier island is narrow here, with the Intracoastal just west of the road, and a dune walkover drops you straight onto open Atlantic sand; the county lists wheelchair access to the beach. The county says anglers come for bluefish, whiting and flounder; pompano pass through in spring and fall, redfish and black drum feed when the water cools, and small sharks prowl the evening surf in summer. Because the park stays open until 11 p.m., it suits an after-work session on a rising tide. Restrooms with outdoor showers, ADA parking and picnic areas are on site. Rip currents and summer lightning are the main hazards.
