Bunces Pass Bayway Shoreline Fishing
6.0· Inlet· Tierra Verde, FL
Bunces Pass Bayway Shoreline is a roadside bit of hard-packed shore on the Pinellas Bayway South, where the road crosses Bunces Pass between Tierra Verde and the Fort De Soto side. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Tampa Bay boating guide lists it as a paddlecraft access with no facilities, open sunrise to sunset with no fee. The pass itself is a known snook, redfish, seatrout and tarpon channel, with sheepshead and mangrove snapper around the bridge, though guides mostly fish it from boats. From shore, fish the tide moving through the pass with live shrimp or pilchards. Expect strong current and fast boat traffic, plus road traffic beside the shoulder. Treat this as a rough, no-frills spot and read the posted signs.
