Best fishing spots in Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach's shore fishing runs from open sand to sheltered backwater parks, with a scatter of piers and a single jetty rounding out the choice. Most anglers start at Lori Wilson Park, a beach about 1.3 miles from the center, where pompano, whiting and bluefish show up alongside snook. Just up the road, Ramp Road Park sits about 1.6 miles out, its calmer water holding redfish, spotted seatrout and snook.

For something different, Osteen Park's pier is under 5 miles away and produces redfish, spotted seatrout and black drum. Jetty Park at Port Canaveral, about 6 miles out, is the best-rated spot nearby, holding snook, sheepshead and black drum. Kiwanis Island Park, a backwater stop just under 4 miles away, adds redfish to the catch.
