Best fishing spots in Marathon

Marathon's closest spots sit right in town: Sunset Park, about a mile out, and Oceanfront Park just past that, both good for mangrove snapper, great barracuda and crevalle jack. Curry Hammock State Park, under 3 miles away, adds a beach option with bonefish and snook mixed into the catch.

Bridges take over from there, and Marathon has plenty within reach. Tom's Harbor Bridges, about 7 miles out, and the Old Seven Mile Bridge, roughly 13 miles away, both hold mangrove snapper, barracuda and blue runner. For flats fishing, Long Key State Park, under 14 miles from town, is worth the drive for bonefish, tarpon and permit.
