Best fishing spots in Fernandina Beach

Fernandina Beach is built around wide stretches of sand, and Main Beach Park, about a mile and a half from the center, is the easy first stop for whiting, redfish and pompano. Just over a mile past that, the North End Dee Dee Bartels Boat Ramp gives anglers a pier option with redfish, black drum and sheepshead.

There's more than sand here too. Fort Clinch State Park Jetty, about 3 miles out, is the rock option for black drum and sheepshead, while the George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier, under 10 miles away, spans open water for spotted seatrout and whiting. Farther south, Half Moon Island Preserve offers a quieter backwater option under 12 miles from downtown, with redfish and black drum among its regulars.
