Best fishing spots in Sarasota

Sarasota's shore fishing runs from downtown out along the keys, starting with Centennial Park, under a mile from the center, where snook, spotted seatrout and sheepshead are the regular catch. North Lido Beach, just under 3 miles away, gives surf anglers a similar mix plus pompano and Gulf kingfish.

Overlook Park, about 2.5 miles out, covers the inlet fishing with snook and mangrove snapper. Farther south, Blackburn Point Park, just over 11 miles away, is one of the area's better-rated piers for mangrove snapper and sheepshead, and North Jetty, about 16 miles from downtown, rounds things out with snook and redfish for those willing to make the drive.
